Absolutely stunning Bill. Love these things. I hope one day i can afford to build one myself. Or atleast...drive one!

Whats the room like for popping in some sort of straight six? Or even a V6? I assume if something like an LS1 will fit then a V6 could also? Bonnet looks longish, but the car itself is quite small so i can't get a sense for what under the bonnet looks like. Thinking a 2GR would be lovely in one of these.
    Kind Regards,
    Kurt.

Not a chance of a straight six or an LS1. The Elfin's that have LS1's are physically much larger than a traditional Clubbie and not the same thing.
Neil Fraser managed to squeeze in a Mazda 2.5 litre V6 into his car a few years ago though. I reckon the gen5 3SGE has enough power though ...

re the 20v not meeting emissions... is that final? or can u do it if u use an aftermarket ecu? as the stock silvertop tune is rubbish

No thats not quite correct. Westfield will perform "modifications" to your 20V ECU to get it pass. Thats only really practical for Westfield owners. For other kits cars, Westfield will charge a lot of money to do it for you. So no, the 20V doesn't pass emissions, but the "Westfield 20v" does.
Westfield told me the cheapest you can put one of their cars on the road is $35,000 with a 20V and live axle rear end. You can do it less than that though if you source parts yourself.
Mine will be significantly less than that.. probably $30K on the nose with rego..., and I haven't really skimped on parts at all. In fact I've gone further than required with disc braked rear end, LSD, expensive wheels and digital dash. In my opinion, you'd be foolish to buy the car from Westfield pre-built. That takes most of the fun and satisfaction away.
Those prices are absolutely stupid....go to Westfield in the UK and you can buy a Megabusa kit minus the wheels and engine for 10,000pounds!!! They also do a Ford pinto powered 'car in a box' for 6,000pounds-ish...its literally everything you need to complete the car in a box!
The UK Westfield is a much easier car to assemble. The UK also have more lax emissions requirements. As you say, you'd never get the pinto with twin carbs on the road here anymore.. Again though... whats the appeal of a "car in a box"... ?? I guess wouldn't have the pride in my vehicle that I currently do...if I just stuck Bolt A into Part C and joined to Assembly B.
