    Question More Weber Questions!

I`m putting a weber carby on 22r, there is 2 vacuum advance lines and only one port on the weber?
There is three electrical wires on the toyota 1 goes to the electric choke, 1 goes to the idle stop, and not sure what the third is?
Are you having ANOTHER beer? Surely you can`t be thirsty!

1 of the vacuum lines was probably for emission, so u dont need to worry about it.
Follow the lines back, find the one that connects to the distributor diaphragm and connect that one to the carby.

As for wires, it MIGHT have just been an earth?

You mean there are two coming off the dizzy, and only one port on the weber?

One off the dizzy goes to filtered air (ie, a port before the throttle plate, like on the air-filter), the other onto the side of the dizzy.

Can you take photos of the wiring stuff?

BTW... there was no need to start a new thread for this...

Both vacuum lines come from the front of the dizzy and both lines attach to the side of the oringinal carby, very near each other.
I think I`ve solved the wiring problem.
Sorry about the new thread, wasn`t get any replies.....
    Cheers Mick

    Yeh, those are the ones.
The one that comes off closest to the dizzy goes to a vac port after the throttle plate.
The one furthest away from the dizzy can go to any filtered air port before the throttle plate.

on the 22R dizzy, those 2 vacuum advance diaphragms are acctually 1 advance, and 1 retard...

on my weber setup i have no linkages... just a cable setup, would need some other hardware to make it work, can't get photos 'cause the car isn't with me at the moment..

the choke setup is easy as! all the choke stuff is mounted on the carby... what weber are you running? side draft? down draft? any pics?

    AH HA!
it`s finally sinking in. Thanks RAd28.
while your there, the 22r carby had 3 electrical wires 1 to the automatic choke , 1 to the idle cut off and not sure about the third, I only connected the red electric choke wire to the weber choke shade terminal and there`s no choke activety at all, however it almost idles cold anyway? any idea about the running on?
    Cheers Mick
    ps I`ll get some photos

Running on means you havent got that idle cutoff solenoid wired correctly.
Both it and the choke need to be connected to ign+.

If its like mine, the idle cutoff solenoid will be on the side closest to the engine.
If it doesnt have one (not all do), then itll be running on because its running far too rich.

... fitting one of these carbs isnt difficult.
All the problems your having suggests to me you just simply havent done enough reading up on these.
Try googling for "fitting weber carb" and similar.
If thats something you cant be bothered doing, you shouldnt be trying to fit it yourself to begin with.
