Hi they both have that thingy in the centre that pulls out
the cap on the left.. does it have a thingy in the centre (underneath) that pulls out?
does the HKS one?
can you take a pic from the bottom of the caps also? to see if the bit is in the middle of the underside (that lets coolant be sucked back)

that centre thingy is what allows coolant to be sucked back into the radiator... if it is stuck or not working properly, then you will get the symptoms you describe.. the actual pressure rating of the cap shouldn't matter for the vac issue...
is the overflow bottle properly vented? it can suck air in no probs?

Yep on both caps the thing pulls out. (that sounded so wrong lol) the overflow bottle setup works fine with a stock cap, only had this problem first drive with the new cap. Maybe it was stuck or didnt line up quite right on the rad? I notice it can be moved from side to side a little. Seeing as it holds pressure I might try it again
I put the stock Toyota 0.9 kg/cm radiator cap back on and it worked fine. I've tried the HKS one again and will see later on tonight what the results will be. If the problem recurrs then its obviously the cap. I've contacted the eBay seller but still waiting on a reply
