    Default Sigma or MX83 LCA's in ra28???

    Hey guys,

I did a search and couldnt find much but if anyone knows of a thread i might of missed please let me know...

Can sigma lca's be used to get neg camber on RA2x's? If someone has done it have you found any problems with bump steer or anything like that. Do the tie rods and tie rod ends need to be changed? Any help would be great thanks...

    Cheers, Craig...

Yeah you can use them. Bump steer wont change much. I think there is enough adjustment in the tie rods but not 100% sure on that. If not then there are plenty of options for longer tie rods around.

Easiest way to get neg camber without going for coil overs (smaller dia spring) and strut-top-adjusters on an xA2x. Also, if you're using the 1410mm diff, the extra track is usually welcomed at the front (depending on your offsets). But then the guards can get in the way.

I can't find the exact details as I am at work... iirc you need the LCAs from the sigma with the square lights, but I dont remember years/modelnames ottomh. Can't remember the balljoint setup either. Someone here will know!

If the RA28 is like most other toyotas of the day LCA wise, you'll need the GH sigma arms. I couldn't tell the difference between sigmas at the wreckers so i was checking the build plates on the firewalls. There's some sigma (forgot which model) which has funny as bushes which wont work with brackets on the crossmember for the LCA, thats why you use GH arms and cut the bushes down to fit. Here's a thread for fitting them into the MA61, the pics might help you visualise.

Edit: and here's a picture of the wrong sigma LCA. Note the bush, its a 2 piece which simply falls apart. And also the bump stops, my GH arms didn't have any bump stops.

I'd measure up a GH ball joint taper and also a stock RA28 taper. If the taper on the GH ball joint is bigger than the RA28's, its simply a matter of reaming out the steering arms on the RA28 to suit the GH ball joint. Might want to grab yourself a spare pair of the RA28 steering arms just incase you want to go back to stock.

Hen wrote an article on S13 Silvia suspension into the AE86s and early Celicas using the MX62 LCA... I'll find it and post the link here...

    http://www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.php?t=13452 < i made that ages ago.

Gives you details on all the arms which will fit.

MX83 will NOT fit, as it uses a different inner bushing.
