    Default Disassembling Three-piece Wheels

    Hi gang,

I have some Work three piece wheels and I'd like to get the centres resprayed in a different colour.

I figured that I could unbolt the centres from the other two pieces and take the centrepiece to a shop and get it done that way. It would be easier than taking a whole wheel.

Is there a special procedure for bolting the centres back onto the wheel (or unbolting, even), and what should I torque the centrepiece 'rivets' to?

Should I give Simmons a call and see what they say?

    Thanks heaps,
    Dylan

Mate they are easy to pull apart just undo the bolts and then tap the centre witha rubber mallet.

Make sure you mark the centre's position in relation to the outer rims somehow, and that each centre goes back into the original rims in the same positions. Otherwise you WILL have serious balancing issues. The centres and rims of Simmons are selectively balanced at the factory.

Thanks. That was one of the things I was sort of after - specialised things to consider.

Mate I've pulled 3 sets apart and had them painted etc and all you have to worry about is the tyre valve in some cases and that's it. If you want to mark it all up etc then go for it but there really is no need IMO. That's speaking from experience. Good luck with it it is almost impossible to stuff up unless you over tighten the bolts when you put them back together.
    Cheers
