hmm seems that might not be right....

i was trying to get the idle maps right, and thought id stick the timing light on the dizzy and the crank pully, it seems that its firing for to long/erratic as the mark on the crank pully is about 3-4cm long instead of a clear dot that it is. any ideas would be great.

not sure what it is but it seems alot of microwreck equipped cars that come through my door seem to have a problem with timing up easily ( varying bye up to 10 deg ) ems can do the same.
they seem to even up at about 2000rpm, autronic and motec are the only ones i ever see stable.

the 1ggte dizzy reluctors are made from satans testicles and are not to be trusted. they give erractic output and create migranes when you try to run anything off em.
old corrolas or the witzl had a diagram for an digital converter which changes them from a variable output to a digital on/off output and that would be a lot easier to use than the standard output. i ended up cracking the sads with mine and changing it over to a VK commodore dizzy(i know, doesnt seem clever but it made my life much simpler)
    GA23(never finished-now with cracked block ) JZX83 (Tyre eater) 3sgte AE86. by now i should know better.

I agree with the above, Toyota reluctors are the work of the devil and my Haltech doesn't like them either. Crank-mounted hall-effect sensor FTW.

i managed to get the timing mark down two about .8-1cm. its only a half cm dot or so, so its not to bad. i just shielded the cable as far as possible and kept the wires coming from the dizzy as far apart as i could. it doesnt seem to have any problem now after that.

    cheers for the help.
