He'll need an RA20/21/22 crossmember if he wants a bolt-up solution, which he's very unlikely to find in this country. Failing that it's custom engine mount time.

yeh import one of those crossmembers or do a 2TG instead....basically the same motor (don't flame me)
Yup a T series engine would be a much better idea, and it's not hard to bore & stroke a 2T-G to 2.0 litres.

Yeah stick with the T series engines, go a 3TGTEU....
Hi,
If he puts in a 3TGTEU he'll then need to think about upgrading his gearbox and diff 'cos the T-series stuff, although fairly strong, won't last too long behind the power of a 3TGTEU - especially if it's driven hard. Also, might want to think about a good brake upgrade.
Therefore, from a cost and "amount of work" perspective, the 2TG engine is a better option.

There are significant differences in the front end of an RA23... the crossmember won't fit.

Could possibly just make engine mounts and use a front sump 18RGEU, fits well in my KE70 which I understand has similar layout to the TA22 (my KE70 has a steering box).
Callum
well the reasons he is wanting to put the 18rg in there is because he has one lying around and wants a bit of power upgrade so i dont think much money will be getting spent...
tell him ill buy the rg off him, and he can use that money to buy a 2tg.ahahah
ok he wants to know if any one from melbourne would know of a place in melbourne which will help him out with his custom engine mounts? any help?
firstly he needs to see his bank, and see how far he can stretch his mortgage, cause that sorta work is NOT CHEAP to get other people to do. I know a fella who bought a TA22 with 18RG already in it, and he had to re-do the engine mounts cause they werent up to scratch.
