    Default Celsior coilover conversion info

about to fit coilovers to my celsior and wondering what to do with the factory airbag stuff once i remove the struts?

do i just pull the relay/fuse or something to stop the compressor working?
or can i just clamp the hoses to stop it from pumping?

    any info would be great.

    cheers Softy

I'd just unplug the compressor and see whether it throws any codes first.

turn the suspension off in the boot on the left hand side.
you can pull the fuse out, but i havent bothered with mine, just got a flashing light going off all the time (normal / high) on the dash.
my sugestion is try to pull out all the airbag stuff and sell it cause its work a few dollars to anyone having issues.
btw what coilovers are u using?

rear is easy as. just pull out the back seat and u got access to the strut tops, botoms only got 1 bolt thru it. takes 5 min to get the rears out, my fronts were a different story all together, took me 2 days to do the front due to the tension on the spring.
i converted mine to standard springs and struts with super low springs, its slammed
only cause i couldnt find coilovers at the time, but now the shocks need replacing i rekon ill got for coil overs. i was gonna use late model supra struts as i didnt know they made coil overs for celsiors.
depending on the tension on the front springs its a bit of a task getting them in cause they need to be compressed as much as possible and then u still need to pull the control arm and brake assembly right down to get em out/in.
definatley a 2 person job. oh yeah its a bit easier if ya disconnect the upper control arm / ball joint assembley and push it up and out the way. gives ya more access room.

    i have airbags.

and the webbing at the top of the arch where the strut mounts to makes it hard.

have to either drop the subframe or cut the webbing out to get enough angle to remove the strut.

well so i have been told

nah, my airbags came out in one piece. they came out easier than the strut/springs went back in. just jack it up and pull em out, if they are buggered they wont have too much pressure in them anyway.

its a work in progress at the moment..... still toying with different turbos to get the right mix of drivable boost, latest are vg20 turbos x2
its a headache, but will get there eventually. had major problems with the oil return system, but now thats sorted im just trying to work out what computer to run as its only gonna run 10psi max, and i dont wanna go to the trouble of standalone computer if i dont have to.

i had the front of mine that low for a while, couldnt turn the front wheels though so up it went again.
