oil pressure low ?
hey i just noticed my sump has this huge dent in it could this be affecting my engine performance
oil pressure low ?
not sure how do i find that out and wat is normal for a 22re
i'd think it woudl only INCREASE the oil pressure, not decrease it... It'd be negligible amounts unless the dent is huge
Ive pulled off a sump before and used a rubber mellet and made it the correct shape again.
Always an option if you want to fix her.![]()

i had one sump dented quite badly it affected the oil pickup... the pickup was quite close to the bottom of the sump and where the dent was really knocked the pickup line... pressure was normal but it would drop during hard corners so much so engine light would come on..
when taking off the sump, make sure u put it back with a good gasket or sealant as improperly replaced sump tends to leak especially under pressure...
Research has shown child in front seat causes accidents, accident in back seat causes child
would depend where the dent is. probally all it will do is reduce your sumps oil capacity slightly. if it has blocked of your oild feed you would already know it!
GA23(never finished-now with cracked block) JZX83 (Tyre eater) 3sgte AE86. by now i should know better.
the dent it right at the front likeit has hit a gutter or something
if its under the oil pickup it could be an issue
i had this problem so i simply took it off and bent it back into place
quick n easy fix, weld a bolt to the dent, attatch puller to bolt, pull puller.....
but be carefull, only give it small pulls not big ones, as you could easily pull a hole in it....
Welding something to a sump full of oil? Is that safe?
I am the sun
couldnt see why not?
just pull the sump off and give it some hammer love to belt the dent back out again
pic would be nice I guess... would help determine if hammer-love is needed, or if youcan just ignore it![]()
no, it won't change. now i would like to hear opinions on whether it would change or not......Originally Posted by deeps
