ta22 + oil cooler.

Hi. I am interested to see/hear where people may have mounted an oil cooler on a ta22. any size, doesn't matter. I have mounted a large intercooler and was going to mount mine between it and the radiator but after hearing a few cons of doing this I am now looking at mounting somewhere in the engine bay. (with appropriate ducting of course)

Some ideas or even pics would be much appreciated.

im mounting mine in the engine bay, just behind the right headlight, parallel with the bonnet. ducting comes up from behind front bar and exits through a vent in the bonnet.

Yeah well I had a 600 x 300 lying around so sure as hell made it fit
If or when I build another one it'll be water to air under the bonnet. The car is supposed to be a sleeper, I mean it is is you pull up from behind me and cant see it!

thanks for the replies. yeah, my ic is a bit more subtle than yours mate. but i don't have the gap above the ic like you did, it covers pretty much the whole radiator. celica pain, i would be interested in seeing a pic. i don't mind putting an extra vent, like sierra style etc, on the bonnet.

it's pretty much there or in the guard.

Im probably in the same boat as you mate cause ive got a 300x450 cooler that fits right between the headlights and leaves no room for an oil cooler.

Something ive thought of though it you could mount it lying flat comming off the front of the sump.

Or the other way which im more inclined of heading is mounting it in the guard in front of the D/S wheel and once i get a GT lip just cut a small opening and run a duct to it. If i go this way it will also see more air and probably be in a safer location.

Either way theres two options for ya
