Floppy. You have returned to the forums . I would assume you could use a w40 one also. Might be easier to find.
Looking for a new toy. If you have something 18r powered let me know.

Try toyota or amayama, part number 33212-31010 (thats the 1-2 fork from a RT132 W50, i'm pretty sure all W50 are the same). I recently bought a brand new one for a W55 so they may still be available from toyota. That part number may supercede also.

    Hey guys,

Well looked at it properly in daylight and the box number is 33111-20090 which from another thread suggests its a p51 box not a w50.

There is mention in that thread by RT104GT that the first 2nd selector is different.

I ended up with 2 of these boxes, first one had the 1st/2nd selector fork brake, and the other I put in the car the input shaft bearing is fubar.

lilcrash, the gearbox from the corona was a different one completely, rear section with gear selector is in wrong place for the celica

Oh well off to toyota I go to see if the listing you gave is the same for my box.

    thanks
    Dave

Well that's strange, I always jut assumed the w40 and w50 were the same apart from the extension housing where the 5th gear lives.

I've got a w50 sitting on the floor if you want to compare.

Shit mate, looks like you scored yourself a P51! If that's the case, I'm not sure that the shift fork number I gave you is correct. I don't know if the shifter forks change between the W50 and P51. To be sure, follow RT104GT's identification guide in that thread and if you can't see any brass you've got yourself a P51.

Also if you do get totally stuck, you CAN use that corona box (5 speed?) - the shifter housing and selector arm swap straight over to the celica box and vice versa. I have one sitting on the bench in front of me i've done exactly that to.

I'm almost finished my harness extension and re soldering suspect connections.
Just waiting to source new pins and or new plugs from Toyota.
while i was waiting, whith spare wire, i thought i've make a plug and play harness for my Emanage Blue.
If issues are solved, i will try Emanage once again.

Yeah, i will have a look in the one with the broken fork properly tomorrow to see if its got brass bits or not.

The rona box isnt an option anymore, deal I did with the young guy who bought the car was to swap with my one with the input shaft bearing gone, but I would rather keep 2 of the same box and swap the fork from the one with the bearing gone etc

Im hoping its a normal W50 so that I can get syncro's etc,

The p51 is basically an inferior predecessor to the w50 right? Used in the early cars and GT's?

Not exactly, from what i've read the P51 has closer ratios than W50s. Only used in GT cars too, so i'd speculate they're a closer ratio box. But yeah. Just speculation.
