you'd still need to wire it up to use lpg, it would be just as easy if not easier to wire it up to run efi...or pay someone to do it...
well, the M in my MX10 is crapAnd there's a 7MGE a couple of houses up that i can have, that needs bottom end bearings.
so what i wanna do is fix it and put this in the mark 2. BUT, i don't wanna do the wiring crap, and i don't wanna make a carby manifold for it. so i thought hey why not go LPG? cheaper to run so that'd be a bonus.
anybody done a straight LPG conversion to an auto 7MGE?
anybody got any recommendations on mixers, tanks etc...?
i'm gonna go ask around to see how much a lpg conversion will cost with all parts supplied, and how much if i get all the parts myself and just having them fitted.
also, i assume the 7MGE dizzy would run off the ecu? I've got a 5ME electronic dizzy, so i thought i'd be able to modify that to fit. anyone know much about the dizzy's?

yeah, possibly. but this motor isn't complete. i don'treckon it'll come with the ecu or afm. and i was just gonna use an older type non electrical auto.
i should probly see how much it'd cost both ways. i'v heard good things about lpg too. and petrol prices are getting ridiculous again. it's 1.35 at the moment.![]()

Cant run a carby on 7M unless u use an expensive stand alone ignition kit, or some how adapt the first gen 5M-GE igntion.
Interested with the lpg idea.

your easiest and best and cheapest way out is to get the efi shit and wire it up as a normal ordinary 7m. anything else is opening up a can of worms.

i actually though of going with the triple carbs i have already, but it would defeat the purpose, which was to have a reasonably cheap to run daily driver/tow car.

I thought that most lpg conversions run off a piggy back ecu?
If you're only wanting to use LPG for the 'easyness' of it all, it's still easier to use 7M loom, ECU, etc. - someone shouldn't want too much for Cressida bits I'd imagine, and they're not that hard to wire up.
easyness is good. but can you use a cressy ecu without the cressy electronic auto?
beer me!
You can if you want, Cressida box has outputs for the auto, if you choose not to use them, that's fine.
Just get the 5m dizzy turned down to suit the 7m head , done it many times before , of course you can run the ecu but a 7m with no wires everywhere looks great.
Dave
Exactly. Just get a 5ME dizzy turned down to suit.
Unless your interested in going lpg injection the best mixer to run is a gas research setup. youd want an s350 or s400 mixer for a 7m, with one b2 converter(good for 300hp).
Then you just need lines, lock off valves and a tank. APA make good tanks, but i dont think theres that much difference between different tanks brands.
GA23(never finished-now with cracked block) JZX83 (Tyre eater) 3sgte AE86. by now i should know better.
Amichie on the forums at toyotacressida.net is running LPG in his 7M, might be worth contacting him.

yeah, was thinking of a gas research s400, if i can find a good second hand one. they're pretty dear new. and yes, i hate wires. a nice neat engine bay is what i want for this one.
