Default Basic 1GGTE into RA23 wiring

ok guys, have searched and found wiring diagrams etc for the 1ggte.. and as I have never "done" wiring before I want to give it a go, I know the basics but is what I want to know is what I have to find from the celica loom and how to power up the 1ggte loom.. I bought the car as a half conversion, the guy has put the motor in, and all the wiring loom from the half cut is there, including big bulky relay box. when my mechanic has done my last conversions he';s made his own relays and ditched the big box, leving me with just the ecu really..
Basically want to know what wires to use to power up the ecu etc and get the start signals etc and what of the halfcut wiring wont I need, cos I want to do as much of this conversion myself this time.
    any help appreciated.
    thanks

Have sent pm's and waiting on replies, or any further advise...

is it common for the diagram to say one colour of wire and the actual loom be a different colour ??
and what and where is my circuit open relay ?

Wiring diagrams should always be taken with a grain of salt when it comes to colour, but Toyota are generally very good. Use a multimeter and test for continuity at both ends before you join anything together.

Your circuit open relay should have come with your 1G-GTE engine and ECU. It won't be on a standard RA23.

    Thanks,
with the open circuit relay, is it something 1g specific or is it just like any other relay that I'd make myself like a fuel relay?
And when testing with multimeter what settings on the dial and do I need the wiring loom connected to battery in the car ?
    Cheers guys.

You can use any circuit relay you can get your hands on. Almost all EFI Toyota's have one, usually mounted somewhere near the ECU. Use a 0-20v setting when testing volts and anything for ohms, just change the scale until the units give you something readable.
    Cheers.

From memory, the cirsuit opening relay is a small black relay that looks like many of the other ones getting around. It had "Circuit Opening Relay" printed on top in my loom.

just wiring up my ignition barrel and got a question. The AM i'm using is from the celica loom which will be a direct link to the battery.

If i connect the ignition wire of the supra loom to the ignition on the barrel, that would mean a connection to the injectors which is unfused. Is this a bad thing to do?

Similarly with the start wire, it would make an unfused connection to NS/W pin on the ECU, Also bad i would think.

In the supra (shown in red), the ignition and starter have its own feed, which is fused at 30A and 40A respectively IIRC. I can't find any blade fuses at 30A or 40A otherwise i wudve wired that up inline to get it right. any suggestions?

    keep it coming!

i'll start adding to this soon as well, first off with fuel etc, im relly struggling with the output on the cluster loom to the old ra23 guages

i have even thought of buying new guages as they come with instructions

i have since found 30A and 40A blade fuses, so i will be adding these inline, like so.

Yeh, i havnt looked into guages yet, wanna get it running first.
buying new guages would be easy but i dont like the look of em, especially white ones.

haha well i've sorted most of the wiring out. Are u using stuff from the supra? I'm using the Fuel pump relay and Circuit opening relay from the supra. But my efi main relay is a narva one as i got rid of that big fuse box. If you got any specific questions pm me.
