Default Perth - Engine Workshop Recommendation

After finding my 18RGEU had a blown head gasket, I took the head off. I want to get it checked to see if its cracked, if its fine, get the gallaries flushed and have the head surface skimmed.

Can anyone reccomend a workshop for this? I rang a place called the head exchange, and they wanted to do a heap of testing to it and said a ballpark figure of $700-$900?!

Im in Belmont - Travel isnt an issue

    Cheers,

    Bryce

that's pretty expensive.. i reckon u can get a second hand motor complete for that price..

does that 700 to 900 include new parts for it? like new seals, valve seats, cam seals, skimming + test etc etc etc?? still cost too much i reckon...

i can recommend you a few places to go to, and pretty sure that 700 to 900 includes labour to pull the head off, skim, new HG and refit...

Ive already taken the head off, ive got a new head gasket sitting waiting, and I've got no problems reinstalling it all myself. I just wanna know that the head is fine (not cracked or warped), then get the galleries flushed and a skim on the head.
