1j microtech lt12+xf throttle body q's

im looking to put a bigger throtle body on my 1j and im thinking ford xf 68mm.
my 2 main concerns are how much modification i have to do to the factory inlet manifold,ie do the bolt holes line up?
and what mods do i need to do for the microtech to read the ford t.p.s?
microtech is an lt12s
anyone put a bigger throtle body on their 1j?

firstly, why do you want to upgrade? What turbos and boost are you running?

If the ford TPS has a ground, power and 0-5v signal then the microtech will read it.

hey chris,turbo is a 35r .82rear,im using 80mm intercooler piping and then it goes down to that little throtle body,it looks like a restriction and im hoping ill get better throttle response with a bigger throtle body?

dont need 80mm piping mate, way overkill...

bigger throttle body will decrease throttle response. You could upgrade if you want. 1jz747 was making around 580rwhp with the stock throttle body and plenum though.

id think 2.5inch pipes would even do some good rather than harm.

Throttle will not quite bolt up; you'll need to redrill and tap the holes. As said, there really is no point in using it though.

just remeber u will be replacing a 90's model toyota part with a early 80's ford part

have heard of nothing but problems with those XF throttles

good for a cammed up RB30 and thats about it

same here.. the TPS's seem to be absolute crap..
