JP, ah fuck me, my 1jz coolant shows 12volts on the multimeter!!! and even stranger i get 12 volts from the radiator rubber hose!!!!! i shit you not!!

I figured it must be normal, but now you have me quite scared.

With the multimeter, one lead on the positve battery temrinal, and the other lead from the mm in the coolant which the mm reads 12v-13v, also just putting the mm lead on the radiator rubber hose 12volts!! conductive rubber!!

Thats where you are going wrong.
Do it between the -ve terminal and the coolant.
