Did i deserve to lose 3 rep points?

hey guys, i noticed that most rep related q's were in here so here we go!
A few nights ago i had mates over etc and we were all drunk....but anyway one of my car forum literate mates came on here and started posting ridiculous shit in random threads and some that i had started.
Noone minded in the other 6 or so threads but i edited/deleted the posts so to not offend anyone the next morning. The only thread which resulted in trouble was this:

I agree the post was stupid and could've offended them because it insulted their beloved celicas......but somehow i happened to lose 3 rep points for the post within a few hours, i deleted the post and made another post after explaining the situation yet i still haven't received any replies or PM's....
I think andyroo was one of the users who gave me neg rep and i have seen him active on the forums since my last post on the thread...... but he hasn't contacted me...
What should i do? can the mods do anything? or should i just get over it 'cos and look at the situation in a sensible perspective...that it is only a car forum used for pleasure and learing...not real life!
Can everyone please vote in the poll and let me know that they think.....

I think unfortuneately this is what can happen with the rep system, some people will not bother to reverse the situation because there is no way of linking them to the bad rep. But some people may feel sorry for you and make it up. You have done the right think in this type of public apology and from here i think it can go either way....

as for the post,. it definite;ly deserved to lose rep. 3 people thought so (neing touchy celica owners )

however, once rep is given, it cannot be reversed. even if those involved wanted to, they have to give rep to 15 other people before getting back around to you..

you may not have "deserved" to get neg rep for someone elses stupidity, but come the end of the day it is your responsibility to look after your login and keep control of your party goer's.

IT security 101 - YOU are responsible for your login. It sucks arse and I feel you were harshly treated, but how would you like someone to tell you that watching animal porn was more interesting than your pride and joy? it would upset me. And like it or not it was your actions that lead (indirectly) to this.

See the logout button in the top right hand corner, I'd suggest using it next time before your mates come over.

I feel for you in the circumstances, but whenever I know ppl will use my computer I generally logout of my accounts.

i will log out when my mates are coming over but i'll still leave it logged in most of the time because i can't be bothered logging in every time....

its only a rep point or three live with it keep going and get on with life no use crying over spilled milk next time log out, turn off your auto sign in ,at least then if your friends are over and want to use your computer, they sign in or ask you, then you are awair they are on your computer .
