how many wires does it have?
most aftermarket ones are screw in.. almost any of them will work if they have the same number of wires and you match the wires up.
hey guys, im looking for a replacement o2 sensor for my 1jz, i do have an aftermarket y pipe, and its got a screw in type o2 bung, and i cant use the stock 1jz o2 because its got a flange with 2 bolts to hold it in place. anyone know a replacement i can use? thanks

hey thanks for the reply, the o2 is a 3 wire, heated sensor, i went to the parts store and asked for one, but the guy who was helping me wasn't sure if i could use just any o2 sensor beacuse of differing out voltages ect...
i found a universal 3 wire o2 sensor made by ngk, i found it on summitracing.com oh also, the factory sensor reads from 0 to 1 volt, so if you are looking for a new universal sensor the requrements are 3 wire, 0-1 volt. ngk part code is NGK-29300

1JZ ones are the Titania type, run with a resistance not a voltage. Normal ones won't work. Just make a boss up (old turbo oil feed flanges work well)

Get them from repco. Part no. is rox201 (ox201 if you buy from aca). This is the correct o2 sensor electrically, but unfortunately repco last I checked don't sell the flange, but aca (these guys supply repco with efi parts, but don't sell direct to public) do have a flange, just its used on some other model which doesn't work on a 1jz. Try a few stores, some of the repco guys are very cluey on imports, like for example bankstown store in sydney, but some are just v8 yobbos living in 1970 and seriously have no clue about anything that doesn't use 20w-50 oil, have 8 cylinders and use a carbie.

edit1: just curious as i haven't seen any references to use of titania except in oddball cars (like Vauxhall)
edit 2: \/\/ the heater always gets 12V, btu the resistance of the heater changes with temperature to reduce the current and thus heating power. (for normal zirconia sensors)

The o2 sensor produces 0-1 volt signal depending on the oxygen level. You can't measure it correctly with a voltmeter, you really need a scope/crow. I think ecu supplies it with 12volts to heat it for a short amount of time before the engine exhaust keeps it at temp.

ya, it seems the part numbers for o2's between 1jz and 2jz's are the same, and i know for a fact the 2jz's dont use titania but have zirconia sensors, i just picked up a universal bosch 0-1 volt output heated 3 wire o2. hopefully it works. i'll keep ya posted.

Looking at the autoshop doc, the pin assignments for Titania type are OX+ and OX. I have yet to see a pinout that has both those pin designations.

I put a second standard type one on my car for monitoring whats going on, with a regular boss & for the factory one used an old turbo oil feed flange for a boss & welded that to my downpipe, now works a treat.
