There should be 2 x fittings where the stock Water Temp Sensor is located. I used the hole with thread above the stock one. Worked beautifully.
Hi, wanting to fit an extra temp sensor in my 1j , was thinking that I could drill and tap the top radiator hose housing and fit it there, but i am not sure if there would be enough meat in the wall of the housing to do this.
Anyone tried this or got a spare housing I could try this with?
one of those sensors thats already in that pipe (on the back) is just for the dash anyway.. ive got it hooked up to the gauge in my hilux.,.. was the same part![]()
I did say I wanted an extra temp sensor, i.e not replacing the factory dash or ecu senders...otherwise why would have bothered to post a thread on it....by the way anyone know the different resistance values at given temp for the stanard JZZ30 dash sender?
As i assumed it was in a VL - i figured that you might be needing A temp gauge.. not just looking for a wank gauge.
Tridon Thermo Fan Switch actually, hence the reason I want to keep the dash sender and ecu sender
surely the 1j would have a sensor already assigned to doing that job?
or you could get a piece of pipe with a thread welded into it and put it inline of the radiator hose, piece of pie, you can even buy them off the shelf.

Great place for a thermofan switch, is in the "radiator". Have a rad shop install a boss for you, about $45.00 trade.
cheers Chuck.

The thermo switch should be in the bottom rad tank... more modern rads should already have one.. you really don't want it on the outlet of the engine.
