a suck thru would be better as there would be no pressure blown into the carbie, if you go suck thru you can use a number of differant carbies i see SU's used alot this way.
i dont have a funny or cool signature.

Try a 32/36 DGV Weber or a 34 DMT Weber as used on the XE-XF Falcon should work a treat plenty of available parts for them.

Single barrel XD carb is a hopeless pile of crap (even more so than most other carbs)

I thought blow through carbs had to be specially designed for the purpose as they are pressurised. I didn't think you could just use any old carby. Thats why the suck through is an easier option.

    Could be wrong though.

Pretty sure Weber do a blow through, but good luck trying to track one down for a reasonable price.

    suck through sucks!

look for things like a charade turbo, mg montego, i think maybe even nissan exa?
and didnt you guys get things like ford laser turbo that had a carb?
also maybe honda city, mitsi cordia
i dont know which of those you guys got, and i cant recall if they are all blow through, but gives you a start point.

the weber can be gotten to work. a charade carb would probably be ok. so you know about the foam filling the float, and a rise rate fuel pressure reg ? all i ask is thet you find the powervalve, and drill its orifice for the boost enrichment. makes a much better result.

Any carb can be used for a blow through setup. Its just a matter of setting it up.
Another carb option could be a 350 Holley which is a dual throat carb which runs synchronised throttles(both butterflys open at same time).
    Cheers Brett.

Yes agreed that it is a small engine even though I did see one on a stock 18R years ago and it ran heaps better than the standard carb even had great fuel ecconomy but as anything is its always worth a try.
    Cheers Brett.

im getting a rising rate fuel pressure reg, but i dont really know anything about carbys, so foam filling the float? drill the powervalve ? ive got no idea what that means, so if anyone could explain this step by step to a beginner like me would be much appreciated!
    cheers guys

For the drawthrough setup you want a lpg Weber hat and top cover (falcon is your friend) then run that on a 38DCM Weber, that way it will be all boxed in. This is what my mate has done on his dato ute, as for the rest, pfft buggered if I know.
