    Default rwc qld.

    I bought a camry last week that had a rwc done on it the same day I picked it up. Before the guy had a rwc done on it I noticed it had 3 problems with it, which I thought would not pass a rwc. But it went through with flying colours. The three things are, little rust hole in roof at top of back window, about the size of a pea, has oil leak from motor, drips off the sump, and there is a small hole some place in the exhaust, also sou8nds like the baffles are loose in the front resonator. Should this have been pick up in therwc or am I just being a fuddy duddy? Sorry for any spelling mistakes guys, I hated school and only went there to perv on my math teachers tits. Thanks for ya replies guys.

    technically the oil should have been. EPA wont be happy if its passing rwc with oil leaks.
    and the other 2, its possible they also should have been addressed...just depends whether the rwc guy actually saw the car or not ive had a few done where you supply the details and he supplies the RWC no questions asked. if your not happy, go and talk to the workshop that did the inspection.
    you may find they were just being a little lax to save themselves hassle. after all they have to give free re-inspection.

    Rust hole doesnt matter if it doesnt/will not affect structural integrity if the vehicle were in an accident. The other two i have personally had vehicles fail RWC on so id say if you want it fixed make an issue of it. If there was any probs use phrases like MTAQ, and Department of Transport.

    There are still WAY too many dodgey buyer-sellers out there that are in bed with a dodgey RWC issuer.

    My opinion is;

    If you want to put a car on the road for YOURSELF, so long as it doesnt have issues which are a risk to other vehicles, your occupants, or in a big way the environment, go the dodgey.

    Eg, minor oil/fliud leaks, minor exhaust leaks, broken demister, broken dimmer switch, broken park light, loosely mounted taillight/headlight/parker, loose/worn transmission shift, worn pedal rubbers, pissy little crack in the windscreen.

    All of these being examples of bullshit things for a car to fail on UNLESS, you are selling the car to someone else, getting the above overlooked by Uncle Cracker's RWC, so you can palm the car off with all its UNDISCLOSED goodies to the new owners.

    Our SV21 came complete with RWC, minor rust and 4 oil leaks......

    Oh, and one more, a spare tyre with a BIG hole in the sidewall.

    Maybe the same place did the roadworthy?????

    It doesn't matter if it's there or not, or what kind of condition it is in - if there is a spare tyre though, it must be secured properly.

    Oh our spare was secured with the factory screw thing, it's just when I went to check the tyre pressure at the servo, I hit the trigger and copped a face full of dust & shit out of the spare wheel compartment. The air was going in the valve and straight out the hole in the sidewall!!!!
