Go to Toyota and buy the Toyota stuff, it's fairly well priced and comes in little 4 litre metal tins.
Just got a quick Q some of you guys should be able to answer.
Recently put another auto box in my car as my old one started mis-shifting and generally being a bit crappy and just wanted to make sure the trans fluid in it is the right stuff to be using cause i'd like this one to last for a bit...
I've got the A342E box with a stage 1.5MV shiftkit fitted and a transcooler, around 245 rwkw.
I'm currently using Dex III although have read i should perhaps be using Type IV?
Some people have said Dex III is correct for a shiftkitted box, Type IV for stock?
There isn't anything written on the dipstick that indicates either also...
Thanks in advance!![]()

I think it's a good general rule to use genuine ATF for your auto trans.
At least in the ones you care about. The cheapest dex3 is fine for daily hacks etc.
