Anyone to confirm this?
2 holes are slightly different between 16 & 20 - in fact the 2 holes swap ends on the geakets, so short answer is they are different
T
Soyou guys are saying I cant use the 16v gasket on 20V - or is it possible if I drill the 2 extra holes or something ?
Dude, they are not interchangeable. Theres different holes in different places. And there is no way you should be taking a drill to your head gasket. That is if you want it to be at all useful to ya...
Call your toyota parts store, ask them to order you a HG, if you dont care to much, which if you were considering drilling it, you dont. Try find a cheaper aftermarket item.
Genuine 1G items are 99$ from toyota. Best you can get for the 1g.

Jase
EDIT: And im not sure, but assuming your talking 4age, isnt 16v 1.6 and 20v 1.8... Does this extra 200cc come from bore or stroke? Or bit of both??
I think you will find the 20v silvertop is a 1.6 o wise one.
dude, they are both 1.6ltr (1587cc by memory) engines. same bore and as far as i know, same stroke.
*edit* umm.. yea, like he said o wise one... haha.. must be my slow connection, or my slow typeing. *
go spend the money on a stainless steel HG for it ! LOVE YOUR TOYOTA !
What is autosalon? Sounds kinda homo.

the yarnt exactly hard gaskets to find...
with the 4age, use the gasket to suit the HEAD!!
so no, dont use the 16v gasket, get the 20v one
and no, the 20v isnt 1800cc.....
I DONT WORK FOR TOYOTA ANYMORE
please, no more PMs!
Wow, im tripping out right now... Is blacktop a 1.6 too then? Cause for so long i been under the impression that 20v was 1.8 and 16v was 1.6. I have no idea why i thought this, i just did...
I gotta cut back my drinking... seriously
Cheers,
Jase
lol dood all 4age/ze ST BT all are 1.6
the 7AFE are 1.8, and some people use the 7A head on the 4A and create 7AGE so a 1.8

why bother with original when TRD is so cheap
Other way around dude, 7A block/crank/rods and 4A head, plus some funky pistons (4AGZE ones are common I think) gives 7AGE. 7A head on a 4AGE block will essentially give you a 4AFEOriginally Posted by Jorrs
