    Default Distributor wiring help

Some of you KE nuts out there probably remember that I got a spare parts car recently, along with an electronic distributor out of a 4KEU, which is identical to a 5K internal ignitor model. Now, after pulling the stock points dizzy out of Pineapple/Lemon (the parts car), I discovered that it has one low-tension wire running from it, going to the negative side of the coil as per the wiring diagram. However, the electronic dizzy has two wires, one black and one black/brown, which have a green connector on the end of them. Obviously one of these is supposed to go to the negative side of the coil, but where does the other one go? Positive side? Ground? Any and all help would be appreciated

    *SMACK*

You got it ALLLL wrong dude!!!

The two wires from the electronic dissy are the VR sensor signal, which go into the IGNITOR. The ignitor then uses these signals and fires the coil accordingly.

    Please read autoshop101 article - http://www.autoshop101.com/forms/h23.pdf

After reading that article, you will understand.

Concensus on Rollaclub seems to be that one goes to negative side of the coil, the other to the positive side. Probably a power supply for the electronics in the ignitor (guessing here, don't have much experience with dizzyz, electronic or points)

You are right if it is an internal igniter.
black is coil neg- and tan is coil pos +
Witzl is right for an external igniter type.

Sounds about right, same thing was what we had for my girlfriend's Datsun dizzy too, two wires one -ve one +ve and it was an internal ignitor. Those things are awesome

i've never played with an internal ignitor dissy - but coil + and - sounds right

The ignitor would earth thru the dissy housing more than likely.

Always fun when you're playing around with components from engines that were never released in Australia....fortunately the dizzy seems to be identical to the 5K ones that were released in some of the Lite-Aces
