what kinda side feed?
20 valve 4AGEs use side feed injectors, i have a set of silvertop ones lying around somewhere, i would assume they would be the same, as the engines are roughly the same vintage
does anyone know of "smaller" (lower flow) , low resisitance side feed injectors than the black ones found in MR2 turbo and will fit a Toyota rail??. I have a recollection of seeing some 1GG ones. The 20Valve ones are 14 ohm so not useful. this is a special application where a side feed rail has been used on a NA engine. I have checked out various sites, and whislt low flow side feed injectors are shown, they dont say what cars/engines they come from. Some appear to be mazda by the look of the plug fitting and I know some RX7's have them, but they are higher flow than 3SGTE ones, so no good to me
any help appreciated. thanks

These might help (from )

Terry: maybe 1JZGE ? i thought all 1Gs were top feed? unless it was a 1GFE or 1GUE ?
1JZGE's are top feed
thanks. most tables listed are just copies of each other and I know there are errors as i flow tested heaps over the years, and often dont even get close to the values quoted. anyhow, keep the hints coming. I'll work it out an post a reply.
the 20V ones are physically the same as 3SGTE, and even have same plug, but resistance is totally wrong and stock computer just revolts when they are attached.
Does anyone have the part number or ohmic resistance for stock ST162 3SG injectors???
resistance is too low i'm assuming, just use a resistor pack as used by the 7 rib bigport 4AGEs, they used low impedence injectors with an ECU normally used with high impedence injectors, i might even be able to source one of them, as a mate has switched to aftermarket management, and might not be needing the resistor pack.
Terry's after low resistance side-feed injector so resister pack isn't useful to him.
does anyone know what the 1JZGTE units flow? and the connector shape? I thought they were side feed?
edit: does NA 3SGE fuel rail have same mounting bolt pattern as the MR2 turbo rail? I'm assuming so as both rails have bolted up to the same head (gen 2 3SGE)? Maybe you could go to a top-feed injector?
1JZGTE's are side feed and 380cc. 2JZGTE's are side feed and 440cc.
ouch - too big ;(
Umm might be a silly question but WHY do you want a lower flow injector??? Pull the duty cycle or base pressure back.
Do you mean lower impedence injector??? IE low 'ohms' value?

I was about to say the same, Theres quite a few options out there that can pull fuels out. Bigger has generaly never ben much of a problem.
terry IIRC EJ20 WRX motors use side feed injectors...
I think you'll find they're top feed. A guy on soarercentral had the same idea but the photo was top feed. I'd just double check before you go an fork out your hard earned.![]()
EJ20 comes with both top and side feed depending on the year and model.
Also SR20's came with side feed in some vans etc etc.
Some of the nissan and subaru one's are side feed but wont seal in the rail so be carefull.
ST162 3SGE are top feed in the celica's as we used them in a GT40.
Does your car run injector resistors? as If so you can remove them and then run the High Ohm Resistance 20V ones.

- 500hp+ 7AGTE 20V turbo -
- MRS/Hayabusa turbo **sold**
- TA63 3TGTE project in the build -
the engine is a 3SGE (gen 2 head) in an RA40, the side-feed rail was selected (i'm guessing) to allow for the low-profile plenum that could sit pretty close to the head.
The ECU expects low-Z injectors and there is no resister block. So it's low impedence injectors or nothing.
After speaking with the owner today, i think they (him & Terry) are also looking at an adjustable FPR instead of the stock unit.
