While we are on the topic of eManage... can anyone tell me how much harder it would be setting it up to run a differet MAP sensor rather than the Profec to run boost?

I'm planning on using a 4A-GZE MAP sensor instead of a 4A-GE + Profec for boost on a 4A-GE ECU. I'm worried that it will either not work well enough or it'll take many hours on a dyno because it's hard to tune...

With the ultimate you can select what MAP sensor you are using from a list... I can't see 4AGZE in the list though unfortunately...

You can buy the pressure sensor by itself to use on the e-manage.

the 3 BAR pressure sensor + harness runs about 100-120 bucks from what ive researched, but GM pressure sensors can be made to work for around $80, there are guides all over the internet on how to do this.

ive got an article here on how to make your own USB cable for e-manage, it (weird though) requires a Nokia DKU-5 USB to phone cable, which you cut and splice with a regular USB cable to make it work.

i might make one up, seeing as i have the cable (and dont use it) and ill be getting the proper cable with my e-manage this weekend.

ive read on the net that the update to the ultimate is simple, you unplug the blue, plug the same plugs into the ultimate, and add a few more wires for the ultimates extra plug, didnt think it would be this easy though, and it appears i was right in thinking so?

my missus is away this weekend, so im getting stuck into installing/playing around with the e-manage, and neatening up my entire engine loom, SORELY overdue maintenance.

ill let everyone know how i go, as it'll be somewhat similar to the ultimate installation.

You use BOTH plugs from the e-manage blue, but in order to upgrade to be able to add and pull fuel from the additinoal injector map you need to cut the injectors wires and intercept the same as the ignition wires, with another 6 wires from the 3rd/new plug required.

This 3rd plug also has your knock inputs, speed intercept (for removing speed limit), Cam Angle sensor and Crank angle sensor wires (for logging ACTUAL timing, not timing change) and some aux inputs and outputs that you can configure...

I wires it up from the blue in about an hour... but I coudln't get the engine to run... I didn't have a chance to see if it was fuel or ignition missing, but will look at it this weekend.

There are a total of 20 jumpers in the board inside the ultimate and about leventybillion setting that you can change etc in the software... you will NOT need the usb/serial from the blue for the ultimate, it's purely a USB A to USB B connector and uses the USB port on your laptop... Read, works much faster...

I'm hoping to have some success this weekend.

And also much much easier to find. I gave up trying to make one for the blue and just got the right cable from the previous owner (who thought it was a purdy little shiny thing he would keep for himself and then tell me he bought that from a shop himself even though it has a GReddy serial number on it )

No joy at this stage, I have had some major issues arise thanks to a so called mate who was meant to be buying my parts on my behalf, but instead spent my money, left me with no parts (turbo, fuel system, clutch), and is piss poor. So i'm currently trying to work out how to get the money together to finish my little project. So my electrics has taken a back seat for a while.
