noisy 7M

Hey guys i have a 7m in a z20 soarer and since friday has had a nasty ticking noise at a$bout 2 - 2.5k revs. Ive had a listen and it seems to be coming from inside...Anyone had any experience with the same thing? A mate was suspecting loose lifters but any other sugestions will be great...its not a knok...its ticking...sounds like a soft tick too...

Have you ran it low on oil ? Or is the oil level low ?

7M`s are known for Rod knock if run low on oil

it was a bit too low when i filled it..if this is the case what damage has been done and what can be done to fix it...if i drive it will it get worse

if you still have the noise after changing the oil, change the oil again and use a THICK oil,

if its only a minor noise you will postpone the damage by using a thciker oil, wont fix it, but will delay the severe damage.....

either way, take it to a mechanic, get good advice, not from a mate...

its running penrite 15w 60 now so what oil should i upgrade too? also the plugs are getting changed so just the NKG?? sorry for the newb questions...ill learn!!!

i love NGKs... but to each his own, it's about brand so yea it's your choice.. don't get multiple point plugs though, bosch super 4 or twin (V) head stuff..

hm... i believe penrite also has 25W-70 oil... and it's more a downgrade than an upgrade still even if it delays the repair, start saving up to build a monster so when the time comes u know what to do *cough* 1J *cough*
