    Default 20v Tuning...

    Hey,

Just bought an AE93 with a silvertop 20v in it and it idles pretty high (1000-1500 rpm), pings down low and I can't get full throttle.

    Anyone got any advice?

    F*#^ing love the engine!!!

check the base timing with TE1 and E1 in the diags terminal shorted, make sure the CEL is flashing constantly with no pauses (no codes).

If there are codes it wont lock the timing and you wont be able to check the timing properly. When the ignition is too far advanced the idle increases, it would also cause it to ping.

check the ignition timing, sounds like it's running on a very high ign timing.

Yeah, running stock ecu and BP 98 octane fuel. Jus waiting on a mate to lend me his 20v manual so I can find out how to check the timing.

The accelerator doesn't seem to give me enough movement to open the throttle bodies fully. If I adjust the cable to give me full throttle it idles at 3000rpm!

Cars got a bunch of bugs but I think I'm in love. Sucker for a project...

So is the throttle cable too short compared to the sheath extension? Is it possible for you to take a photo of the throttle actuator for the toymods masses to peruse yo problems? And do you know if the throttle actuator is the stock unit? And do as JP suggested. Check for codes and figure out the pinging ASAP!
Nikita the RA23 is almost finished .
