another thing to think about is
yr tacho and speedo will not work right
tacho is 4cyl you need 6
nissans have analog speedo and toyota sensors are digital signal so u will need an adapter/converter to get factory speedo to work
Hi people, im a new user of your forums and I was hoping for a little bit of help regarding .
information on the 2JZ-GTE
I have looked into the great write up on another members 2jz-gte conversion in his S13 which is what I am about to undertake.
My first questions are regarding the 2jz's (non vvti) engine managment. What are the differences between the management in the aristo v supra v chaser? What management differences are there between the autos and manuals? I want to run single turbo, big injectors and fuel pump, can I retain standard management (even if its modified) or will I need aftermarket management?
My second questions are regarding the sump and gbox I require. I want to use the R154 gbox and need the forward hanging sump. I know the Aristo has the sump I need but i didnt think they were relesed as manual? Can I buy a half cut with the 2JZ-GTE with the R154 gear box which is 'factory'?
I did search the forum prior to this post so I hope this post is not repeating others' questions but any help would be great.

yep cheers man... budget will determine exactly what I do with ignition on the car but I will use an aftermarket tacho and and pick up RPM that way. May use an RSM as a speedo?
You can get them re-calibrated...Originally Posted by sideshow

u better let me fiddle with it mate![]()
the stock management can be used up to a certain point, i think it was 16 psi of boost or something? im not too clear on it.
thats for boost, as for injectors, they'll be able to work up until a certain point, if you go too large you'll need an aftermarket comp to run it all, but for 16psi, and the fuel/injectors required to support that power, you'll get away with factory management + a SAFC.
Aristo AFAIK wasn't released manual, if they were, in very limited numbers.
yuor best bet, is an aristo front cut, using the auto ECU to run it as a manual, and purchasing an R154 with the right shifter position to suite.
Elmo.
tacho u can but the speedo requires a different signal
u prob can get something internally fitted in speedo but at end of day its prob cheaper to get new speedo
thanks people
EldarO, what is this shifter position you speak of? there are differing shifters amongst the R154 range?
The set up I would like is 660cc injectors in the standard rail using the standard intake manifold and a GT3540 with 45mm gate, stock motor with revised cooling (water and oil). Am I being realistic in thinking I can run 15-18psi to acheive between 380-450hp? Is this the territory of after market manegment or can I do this with stock ecu?
you can reach 380hp with stock twins, im sure you'll make it with a big single![]()
yeah.. the idea is the single for clearance to clutch hydrualics and for exh room.
Im wanting decent hp (400 plus) and tourque on a soft (factory) tune and low stress motor to begin with.
Do you know who deals with tuning management on 2JZ's in Perth?
Best shops for tuning the 2jz in perth would be XSPEED or OVABOOST.Originally Posted by kingd

Whoops... I just meant the tacho... I meant to remove the speedo part out of the quote...Originally Posted by sideshow

Concerning your box question. The 2JZGTE only ever left the factory in manual form with a V160 6 speed and only ever in a mkIV Supra. So a halfcut that is already manual will be rare and expensive.
However there are factory bellhousings to fit W5* or R154 boxes to JZ engines. So an auto halfcut + new bellhousing + your choice of box is the best bet.

I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.
Drift Volvo. Was fun. 2JZ next time.
But, finding them is another story... Dellows also make them, but they don't have a good reputation for them...Originally Posted by Hen
I've heard you can get W5 bellhousings from Toyota, and assume the same is true of R154 housings too. Yes, they're $400ish (maybe less if you have good contacts in Toyota), but that's if you can't find a secondhand one in the meantime.
