Idiot + the fact that i have a bucketload more torque, and i had a slight rolling start, 2-3 km/h as opposed to stop.

Actually, i'd hazard a guess to say, unless you've upped the boost significantly, you'd have less torque, less power and more weight...

Maybe its a good idea also to get your radiator flushed as well. You did say it had cold spots!

Yeah, forgot to mention that too,

radiator is getting flushed, all old hoses replaced, dash wiring/guages fixed etc. etc.

I figure if i spend a bunch now, it will save me heartache and more money later.

John, once again, your input is redundant.

the supra wont be back this weekend, as i had planned, as it wont be the standard HG replacement.

    why?

The head... its so corroded the mechanic is suprised that it ever actually ran, to top that, one of the head bolts snapped inside the block on removal.

so, i need a new head,
    gasket,
    set of studs,
and ive told him to have a look around for a stronger head gasket, apparantly hes worked on a few of these before, and theres a hybrid avaliable, with metal rings, but stronger than the stock rings.

either way, $1400 purchase price of engine, $2.5-3k fixing.

i could have a working 1JZ with r154 box sitting in my engine bay, and still have money to spare.

such is life, i guess i wont be doing that conversion at the end of this year either, time for the p00 motor to get some work done, and pump out some serious torque.
