Sorry JP, no part number was supplied. These mufflers don't even have any markings on them, no Genie brand stamping either. Mind you i'm more than happy to forego a shiny stainless finish (since its under the car anyway!) and have something functional, but these really do look home-made!

So where can we get one if we don't have a part number to refer to? Can you give a contact name/place where you got yours? Price?

Out of interest, up here in QLD they recently introduced a law against exhausts that can have their silencing levels altered. Way to go guys, give tickets to the people who are trying to be quieter!

NSW either has the same law now or will be introducing it soon with the new sound laws.

what really grinds my gears is why can a holden VE R8 and lambo murcielago just to name a couple are alowed to come out of the factory with variable dB contol valves on their exhaust yet its completely illegal for someone who wants to do the right thing by having a quiet exhaust for the street, eg xforce varex muffler and somthing "functional" (supposedly guaranteed to be the same as a straight pipe) for the track

id take a guess at the valves being EPA approved as they'd be fixed to ensure noise levels comply

whereas the ones available aftermarket are there simply to be a convenient solution of getting around EPA inspections. they go against what the EPA stand for really, so its definately not a surprise they've been outlawed

1jz Rolla could you record a video using a good camera of how your exhaust sounds?
Use a Camera with a decent mic.
