FXGT Dashboard

Hi guys,

Got an AE92 FXGT. Dash is cracked (see pic) Need a new dash for it, so went out like a bull at a gate & got myself an excellent SECA SX dash from a wrecker, was feeling quite pleased with myself. . . . till I noticed that demister vents are different. FXGT has Climate Control Air, and vent moulding extends about 2' further and incorporates slot for Temp sender.

Can someone please confirm that no AE92 was sold locally with Climate control air (ie that there is no chance same dash was sold locally).

If not I guess I'll check $$$ for reskinning ($500+ ouch) or ring some NZ wreckers.

The good news is I have a sound dash for sale for $50 (no less). Paid $100.

Aus delivered AE92's didn't get climate control

Hi guys,
Ive just learned that there WAS a Corolla sold in Oz with same Dash, the AE95 4WD Corolla Wagon - it was fully imported and some/all? came with Climate Control air.

Is anyone breaking one of these cars????

Need dash urgently. . . .

What colour did you need if its grey they are a pretty common colour and you should be able to find them at wreckers. If its blue your gonna have a hard time. It took me forever to find a blue dash for my AE95. On the plus side at least they only take about an hour to take out and put in.

That would have to be the first ever AE92 dash I've seen crack. I hope you do end up finding the right one, AE95R wrecks are hard to find and may be in the wrong colour as some had a dark interior.

I reckon maybe reskinning may be a good idea, may I suggest black? I also reckon it should be cheaper than $500 if you simply drop off the dash to get the vacuum moulding or whatever done.

If you can't get one the same colour just paint it with vinyl paint. It should come out fine and it will be protected form sun damage to help prevent cracking in the future
