    Default 1jzgte problem

hey all i have mx83 with a 1jz, at the moment it is not running i stoped about a 1k from my house, the injectors are not earthing out. When trying to start there is ignition at the coils (weak spark) for a second, sometimes kicks over (runs) a little bit. What type of pulse dose the crank position senser give out? .Any help would be appreciated!

Have same car but no experience with electrical problems.[used sideshow for wiring]My advice is to find whoever is available in your area that knows your setup [1j\mx83 or similiar]

You can ask in a conversation part of the forum who knows a good auto elec or experienced person in your area.I suggest this because many auto elecs charge over $65 dollars an hour and if they dont understand your set up you will be paying for too much time and possibly a "no result"

What condition are your coilpacks in... take them out and check for cracks etc, dead one would also be a possibility but it would run like shit once it was started too.

When did you last change plugs also?

The coil packs are fine. The car is not running because the injectors are not firing, there is fuel pressure. is there anything that will make the ecu not fire the injectors or its the ecu it self?

Sounds like a fuel issue to me... My soarer used to do that same when the fuel pump ECU went.

if you get the ECU to dump any error codes viathe check-engine light you'll probably work out which sensor or item is snafu.

pull return fuel line off if theres fue coming out of the engine return pipe then fuel is ok
thats easiest way to check for fuel

if you get injection then stop it could be th eignitor not giving an igf signal back to ecu

weak spark is hard to say if its bad as alot of std efi cars have tiny spark these days
    and thats normal

try running the enigne on aerostart

crank signals either work or dont work

if it nearly runs then crank signals should be ok

did they hook up the ecu light if they did then check for codes

i like your second point side show, when she runs say for a couple of minutes then cut out, she wont start again for a while , i have globe on before a coil and on a injector, when she cuts out there is no power to the injectors and when trying to start it. i will try to see what puslse the igf line has.

Could be dead ecu, seems pretty common on most 1J ecus. They get leaky capacitors which seems to most often affect the injection side of things rather than anything else.

The last 3 1J ecus i have changed the caps in have had similar problems at least

Mine was showing code 14. It was a dead ECU. Same symptoms.
Try your ECU on another car, if you can, then you can rule it out, or confirm it is the problem.

    Cheers Brad.
