    Sweet!

So have you kept it original and accident/rust free in that time? or done some tasteful mods?

I should stop hijacking the threads, but until you get a Members ride thread up and running, I have no other option

I'm with TwentyEight on this one... it's been nearly an hour now!!!

The AquaJets look cool! Wish you could still get them

    Thanks Mr Costello

I understand the difference between them now. ie. that one is wider since its 185 versus 165 and that there is all overall rolling diameter difference between the 2 of 11.6mm but I still dont get why there are two different tyre specs there in the first place? was the 185 and optional tyre choice or something? Does this equate to my maximum choice in tyre width being 185+30%=240.5 (235 tyre) or is that irrelevant and im stuck with 165+30%=215 tyre?

My concern is that sooner or later the blue constabulary will take an interest in my car and when they do they will sticker me for tyres that are too wide

    Cheers.

    Jimmy.

Timbo, yes it is original, rust and accident free with some mods and pretty ordinary compared to most cars on here, but let's not hijack this thread.
I will post a separate thread later. Thanks for the interest.

Oh, and AquaJets were pretty ordinary in my experience.

OK this is not finished yet. Once I catch up with River I will Scan the Tyres size info and add it to the page. I have put the 14" options for those with nmore stock set ups and put some 15" and 16" options. I didn't go any bigger as at this point in time I don't personally have the need to.

Important note to remember: The Tyre sizes listed MAY NOT EXIST, ie you may not be able to buy the sizes I have listed. They are just "legal" in NSW if available. Of course you need to have a legal fitment rim which may require a diff upgrade but thats a whole different story and you should ALWAYS consult your engineer for his descision.

To view the current RTA legislation for alternative wheels and tyres (NSW):
    http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registrati...vsi09_rev4.pdf

Read it carefully as it can be (Intenially if you ask me) misleading Point of note - The maximum Rim width for your vehicle is based on the Axle used. chekc the reference table carefully (Its not mentioned in the text itself ) and you will see it actually says that For ADR 24 compliant vehicles, and I quote "Allowable rim width increase above the widest optional wheel available for the axle assembly used"

If only I had read that more carefully when I ordered my first set of custom made wheels. 6" max my arse !

    To find yourself an Engineer
    http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registrati.../vsi/vsi02.pdf

To look atalternate tyre sizes I use this site:
    http://www.tyresave.co.uk/tyresize.html

And that should have you covered (In NSW anyway)

PS, To avoid any on road confusion with the boys in blue or the RTA I suggest having a copy of the VSI 09 and a copy of the calculations for your chosen tyres in your car with your engineers Certificate. Once i getthe scan added to the reference file it will be more complete and of course in my car for the trip to Dubbo. The 245/50 15"s on my baby you will see are indeed a legal fit now I have the hilux diff in

You have to remember its not the job of the police to know the rules in regards to engineering but if you can show them proof your tyres are actually legal then 99% of the time you will be fine. Just don't be an ass about it.

hey fellas, just went for engineering ....and failed.
I need the wheel track ( front and rear) specs for the ra28 - preferably from the same book that had the GT specs above.
Any specs you have would be appreciated i have 3 sources of info so far and they all list different specs. But the figure i need would be in the GT book i hope

    thanks Rosie.

thanks for the quick reply, thats the specs i was using. I was hoping that the GT had something a little wider.....like 1380ish. looks like ill have to put some other wheels on for a little bit, all for 10mm a side. not happy.

While i have u 2 - he wants the max Horse power rating and associated rpm for the 1G, needs to be on paper.
At this stage any 1G will do gen 1,2 ,3 i dont care.
    like 180HP @ 4800RPM if u know what i mean.
