I understand the difference between them now. ie. that one is wider since its 185 versus 165 and that there is all overall rolling diameter difference between the 2 of 11.6mm but I still dont get why there are two different tyre specs there in the first place? was the 185 and optional tyre choice or something? Does this equate to my maximum choice in tyre width being 185+30%=240.5 (235 tyre) or is that irrelevant and im stuck with 165+30%=215 tyre?
My concern is that sooner or later the blue constabulary will take an interest in my car and when they do they will sticker me for tyres that are too wide![]()

Point of note - The maximum Rim width for your vehicle is based on the Axle used. chekc the reference table carefully (Its not mentioned in the text itself ) and you will see it actually says that For ADR 24 compliant vehicles, and I quote "Allowable rim width increase above the widest optional wheel available for the axle assembly used"
