    Default Taking off oil cooler.

    Hey guys,

    I bought (Another!) Supra, and its about to get complied, but I have to get it back to standard. Its got an aftermarket oil cooler..

    Ive never played around with them, what precaustions do i need when taking it off? It doesnt have a relocator. Is it just as simple as removing the sandwich plate and the oil cooler/hoses itself?

    Will oil start pissing out from anywhere?

    Cheers!

    Yes.

    Drain the oil from the sump and let it continue for an hour or so until it stops dripping. Even then there will be some oil left in the filter (if its attached to the sandwich plate) so unscrew it carefully with a rag that will soak up oil. Remove the filter and hold the rag over the it until you get it clear of the car. If the cooler is eaasily accessible remove one of the hoses and drain it that way. Either way there is unavoidable oil (unless the car has been sitting for some time without being turned over).

    if it has a sandwich plate feeding to the cooler then yeah .. just unbolt and put ya filter back on.

    also depending on the lines used ... if you have oil hose and not the braided screw fittings;
    then you could just get a short hose and hook out to in on the sandwich plate.
    Also if you can get caps like the vacuum line blockers .. or screw caps if its braided lines.

    Leaving the plate depends on the compliancing.... they might want the cooler gone... tat might also want the plate off (but i cant see that - but nor have i ben thru all this )

    Cant help ya self eh Coffee!

    na, i think I have a problem man! haha.

    Thanks guys, it does have all teh braided lines. I think the cooler maybe alright to leave, its just that its in place of teh stock Intercooler, so it needs to be removed.
