is this tv designed to turn on when the engine is started? is it a CRT? With any luck it might just be power supply related. Hope you get it fixed Wilbo, 80s technology is so hot right now.

Yep got it working.

There was a problem in the top of the three boxes in the boot Some of the TV stuff is in that box, including a switch mode power supply section. I replaced the caps in that section as well as a diode that was chipping off, and was in backwards :S

Twas the last caps I replaced that fixed it. I also reflowed the whole board.

How in the fark did you get TV working - shouldn't it be NTSC? Or did you put some kind of converter in?
