Default 1JZ 260KW+ Recipe. Might Need Some Help :)

okey dokey well when i get some money(hopefully soon ) im gonna be going single turbo route on my 1jz, already got single turbo manifold and few other little things.
tryed a quick search for 1jz stuff but couldnt find some exact stuff needed.

plan is T70 job with bigger injectors and maybe aftermarket ecu, but need some help first. wanna run around 16-18psi. would i need anything else?

first off what sized injectors would suit, i assume bigger is not always better, but cant have them all running at 100%.

possible to run standard 1jz computer, i know obviously not ideal, but would it work or run too lean.

id be happy with anything around 260-300rwkw, any suggestions or ideas on different set-up would also be good, remember i want cheaper options cos ima tight ass

440 injectors should get you there fine, usualy about $200, direct swap out of a 2JZ-GTE. fuel management of some kind will definatly help. you'll probably be able to get by on a SAFC or similar. Not sure on the turbo your choosing, i don't know it. Some of the single guys on SF have got a TR44 (?) some cheap turb, seams to be doing them right so maybe check that out. Chris Davey is also running one now to I believe. Less then a G IIRC

found it yeah looks like i have 2 options now, t70 or tr44, tr44 looks like be more responsive but t70 would gimme more power. tough decision

I wouldn't touch those turbos personally, but each to their own i suppose. A good halfway point between pov-spec ebay turbos and name brand ones are the KKR ones sold by otomoto. Theres been alot of good feedback, i'll be running one myself.

also curious to what max boost ud run on stock turbos im running 11psi but might crank it up to 13-14

Yeah I'm looking at the KKR's for myself. They're a good option.

14 is best without more heavy duty flow reduction. I'm running 13 daily, 18 on the strip and dyno but I've done a fair bit of work on my piping so I'm fairly confident that the turbs will be ok at 18 for realitivly small amounts of time.

my brother has a TR44 on his JZA70...nothing but good results with 220rwkw on 11psi totally untuned...running rich as hell with no O2 sensor connected...

id use one on a 1JZ happily

I would use a TR44 over the monsta T70 (and I did ). Some people have had ok results with the T70's and some have had not so good results. I haven't had my car dynoed or 1/4 miled since the turbo conversion but it had between 215rwkw and 240rwkw with the old setup and it doesn't seem to be much slower at all. A hell of a lot more responsive. Have a look at my members rides thread for some datalog info. I did on it.

Also, why did you pick 260rwkw? Just a nice figure?

    My mod path would be:
    manifold (usually T4)
    t3 flange welded on
    TR44
decent wastegate (garrett or 38mm tial)
    FCD
    safc
decent fuel 98oct or above. (I use martini super boost to get 100oct fuel)

From what I have been reading the stock ecu runs the injectors close to 100% duty cycle anyway. SAFC can't increase the fuel only take it away AFAIK so I don't know if you would need that with stock injectors. If you went to 440's then you will have to pull some fuel out definitely.

Alternatively, you could do what 2jzr31 said he is going to do and put some big injectors in there. If the car runs too rich put some more boost into it I would recommend option 1 but this can work also

No doubt a full ecu is a better choice for overall package but I think it should do ok provided you can give it enough fuel. Definitely don't go flogging it before you have had it on a dyno.

Check out spiller's thread re his car as he has stock ecu an no safc with TR44 IIRC.

SAFC II can increase fuel going to the motor chris...it can increase or decrease

www.hypergear.com I think is the website for tr44 info.

They have an rb25 dyno on there making 260 odd rwkw on 16psi but I know this engine has at least a set of cams in it so a stock cam car will need a bit more boost.

Is your car manual or auto?

Mr 1jz: I remember now. If he intends to use over 15psi then the MAP sensor cannot read higher than this so it won't matter if he was to put in +20% as the MAP sensor is out of resolution. If you need more fuel, 440's will do 260rwkw fine.
