To fix it, you need to wire it so the MREL ECU pin controls the power feed to the +B pins (pin's 1 and 12 on the "T" plug, Black wires with red stripe from factory)

MREL is the trigger for the "Main Relay" which feeds power to the +B pins.

Basically the ECU controls it's own power switching.

Thanks guys, I'll be taking this to the guys that did the conversion on Monday. I seem to recall the auto elec that they used saying something about his 1JZ-GTE wiring diagrams being stolen. I guess he tried to do it from memory instead of buying new diagrams.

    Did the idle get fixed?
Sorry for digging an old thread, but followed link from your forsale thread.

The idle issue is most likely a setting under idle.

My mates R33 did the same thing, as I can't read japanese it took me near on 2 hours to rectify, but now I know what each setting does backwards.

Basically, set the top line for idle at what you want, then set the lower one till it stops hunting each time you release the throttle (Most likely around 100-200RPM higher)

Once that's sorted, flick your air con on and start the same using the 3rd and 4th lines of the hand controller screen.

It takes a few mins as after a while it only hunts maybe 2-3 times, and you have to keep going till you get it perfect.

Also in the ign map don't have massive changes of ign timing near idle points Same with fuel.

I got the PFC rewired so it now saves settings. For the idle control, I've got a 1JZ-GTE ISCV coming and am going to get a 7M or 1G ISCV (they can be pulled apart to be cleaned) and try using this. As I said at the top of this thread, I don't have a hand controller but I will be buying the Data Logit software and use my laptop for any tuning that needs doing.

Edit: I just thought that the PFC was saving its settings at the time because the company that tuned it didn't say anything was wrong. I also tried to fit a 7M-GTE ISCV but it is too tall to fit and I believe the pipes on it are pointing in the wrong direction.

Had a guy look at the wiring today. The wire for the cold start was missing, I'll connect this tomorrow. The wire for switching on the Master relay was connected to a Hilux ignition wire and another ignition wire was connected to the relay. The radiator temp sensor wire was also turned into a common ground. The rad temp sensor wire was cut off and taped up (not used) and the ignition wires cut off and taped up and the correct wire now turning the M relay on and off. So the ECU now saves it's tune. The thing is it drive fine to work and then when I tried to start it to get some dinner the idle revved out to 2500 then slowly dropped to 1300 then to 1000 then didn't seem to want to drop any lower.

I'm bamboozled. Is it learning its idle again??

Update: I left it sitting for 10mins incase it was learning the idle again and it was still revving at @1000 at the end of the 10 mins.

I've been fighting with my 1JZ and the ISCV for YEARS now.

I think they just stick. Some days mine will work fine, other days it would idle at 3000. I replaced the ISCV with anothe rused one, it worked fine for a few months, then went back to acting all weird.

I finally got fed up with it, and stuck a cork in the hose to the ISCV (with a hole drilled in the cork to actually allow it to idle) It now idles 700 when cold, 1000 when warm.

A side effect of the ECU getting to turn itself off now is that I can hear all the relays and solenoids opening when the car is turned off. The loudest 2 are the Apexi EBC solenoid and the ISCV stepper motor opening. I'll give the ISCV another spray with carbie cleaner and see if it makes any difference. I did try disconnecting the ISCV and all it did was hunt for the idle up around 3k.

I tried cleaning the ISCV and have had no luck. Since I finished the dump pipes and cleaned the throttlebody and ISCV, the idle is now up at 2500 and is hunting. I've tried leaving it in case the PFC is relearning the idle but it doesn't steady or drop. The TPS has a minimum voltage of 0.3V so I'll check all the throttlebody screws tomorrow. I'll also call the guy that helped me with the wiring problem and the guy that is going to do the tune tomorrow. I need to get this sorted and the FPR and injectors in before the Lux goes for the tune on Tuesday afternoon
