Default Cruise Water Temp, increased over the last couple of weeks...

Background: A little problem which i seem to have had of recent is my crusing water temperature. When i first got the car on the road, it would happily cruise at 88-90 degrees water temp all day every day unless i was at idle or in traffic.

In the last couple of weeks, the cruising water temp has rising to around 90-92 degrees.
    (all these readings via microtech)

A couple of things i've done to 'fix/test' the problem.
-Doesn't matter if it is a hot or cold day/night. The temperature still moves.
    -Its not using any coolant
-I changed the coolant initially thinking i had the wrong mix. And this didn't seem to have much effect.
-cooling system flushed, new thermostat, new coolant
-And then as per my project thread, i've changed out the pump with a newy (old pump was still fine). But the problem persists. http://toymods.net/forums/showpost.p...&postcount=272

Am i going crazy, or have i missed something? Next on my todo list is to check the sensor, and the wiring.

have you changed any thermo-fan settings in the ECU (am guessing you're driving them via the ECU or some kind of temp-relatiev control)?

    driven via the microtech,

switching temp is 92 degrees, so once it goes above this (next step is 94 degrees) thermos switch on, and then turn off around 88-90 degrees (microtech manual says its 5 degrees below).

I've been forced to change it to 94 degrees, otherwise the thermo fan would never turn off.

    Slight Blockage perhaps ???

have you checked for stray current to ensure there is no corrosion taking place that might be blocking a few cores ??

havn't checked for stray currents, ill do that today.

Severel people have suggested the radiator in a couple of places i've asked. Seems to be the culprit.

I think the easiest solution is to take the whole car to a radiator place, and get them to flush the entire system and clean the core.

Another suggestion i've had is the headgasket? But i don't see how that is possible if it isn't burning any coolant...

Some guys here seem to think that everytime a car is overheating its the headgasket, i started a thread calling them out on it once, none of them had a good reason how a car could overheat without losing coolant.

well, mine never seemed to use any coolant, for months, but overheated, then progressively got worse and worse until it was spitting water out of the overflow, when i took the head gasket out, it was leaking in 8-9 spots.

this doesnt sound like HG though, and i thoroughly suggest you dont leave your car with the radiator place, because the younger fellas sure would love a drive of it.

Well im dropping into the radiator place this arvo, to see if they can slot me in shortly.

If i have to leave the car there, ill just set the revlimiter to 2000rpm and lock the ecu... beauty of having a microtech or ill just hang around the shop and wait for them to do it. Beauty of being a contractor.

Ok, car is back from the radiator place, block, radiator were completely flushed and put back together, new coolant, etc...

But its still doing it..... but i think it has more to do with the 0.9bar radiator cap that is on it now (compared to the 1.1 when it went in for the flush)

So once the car cools down ill chuck the 1.1 back on it and see how i go. An increase of 0.2bar (3psi) should bring it up to the efficiency it was before.

.9 bar being only the extra pressure required for it to vent, should have no effect on efficiency, only the temp the coolant boils at.

what temp was the thermostat that went in it?
