im gonna come on the next one that comes north; the drive from the sunny coast is too far. i tried to come on the last one, but my gearbox started to feel like soup once i got to the northside. so i got some work to do aswell.
Changing/adjusting points every few months is rediculous I only just changed them in November. Anyone with an electronic dizzy to suit my engine, i might just buy it.

calm down little missy, i said may not.... meaning i may be there, im gonna finish off the airbox today and try and get her started tomorrow, then iron out the bugs n shit on the weekend
hey,
I'm hoping to iron out the bugs on the 18r-c I temporarily put into the yellow beast.
Dizzy crapped itself on sunday while i was testing it, only 4k's from home, but no mobile signal. very frustrating
So if I can get this thing running smoothly I am still following along.
Dave

Okay,
Queen Mary falls, how hilly/slopey/hard is the ride to and back...?
My car will be ready for the cruise (rwc next thursday) however I don't think I'll have much of a chance to run in the RG much... maybe a few hundred kilometers at the most before the cruise.... Don't really want it to be too hard on the engine :-s
Hi,
There is a fair bit of hilly twist stuff which will work the car reasonably hard from my memory of the last trip at christmas, we had two cars overheat on that trip, but one had a badly blocked radiator and the other was my brothrs tx5 turbo and he was driving it a little too hard without giving it a chance to cool.
Damn 18R-C, got the accelerator linkages sorted to run the webber today, only to have my exhaust come apart where I welded a flange to go from the 18r-poo pipe to the exhaust I had from the RG. Back to the welder tomorrow

The man has a point, when I bought my XR250 brand new, I did a lot of riding in sandy areas (more load on engine) and just gave it heapsAfter a few hours the power actually noticeably increased from a sluggish engine to a powerhouse! The throttle suddenly came on harder, it was a comletely new engine. So figured that was the end of the run-in period

Yeah I tend to agree, I rebuilt our 83 model 626 a few years ago and ran it in by doing a few hilly, bendy runs around moogerah dam and the back of boonah and since then the little 626 has been a little rocket. Pity about the auto gear box
Dave.
Oh forogt to mention, got the acclerator linkages sorted on the 18r-c for the webber this weekend and its a much more enjoyable driving proposition now. The 2nd throat actually engages now.
Dave
Hmm I guess it might be a worthy run in cruise then??Lets hope all goes well
