    Default 1UZ-FE in a Mz20

i know it would fit no problem, theres lots of room under there

but i wanna know , if it would be a painful excercise, as far as engine mount re-locating, the loom , if the driveline would cope,

if i bolted a 5 speed supra box to it, would it still use the bellhousing designed for it and if anything else would need to be modified.

and then getting a blooldy mod plate,

would it be worth it. would i get much change from 5g , just seeing if anyone knows of any similar convo's and if they worked out

these v8's are getting cheap now, i would be a pity to look past this grunty animal

5 g what drugs are you on

most people are lucky to get change from 8 or 10 g

    v8s are not gettin cheaper

theyve always been around 1500 to 2000

    thats for auto

then u need bellhousing stuff 1500

then u need good gbox say about 1000

plus all the extra shit 4000

    example:

My VP motor in my hilux cost me $500 with computer, box ecu, etc etc etc

by the end, the conversion has cost me in the vicinity of $5000

All the little trips to supercheap add up and as sideshow has said, id look at 8 grand more seriously. FYI too, there is fuck all room in the mz20 engine bay when you stick a wide ass whale 1UZ in there. A good friend of mine has a 1UZ in an MA70 - same engine bay more or less and cant get good headers, has heating problems, is a prick to work on...

Why not a 1jz or a 2jz? 1jz would be cheaper due to you can get JZA70 half cuts that everything bolts accross into the mz20. 2jz for this same reason wouldnt cost you much more than a 1UZ too.

i was looking at the same idea a while back, look my my thread in a search as the Z20 and A70 are pretty much the same.

the way it worked out, the hardest problem wouldve been the engine mounts, as obviously theres nothing that will bolt in, and i didnt find an off the shelf set that you can buy.

but apart from that, the radiator, gearbox (very similar to the usual auto supra/soarer box) exhaust (i think it was crown?) sump, (soarer) and exhaust (crown headers + front pipe) etc. etc. everything looked pretty straight forward, as long as you can sort out the mounts, and the parts you buy are in good nick (dont have to spend any money refurbing/replacing shit) then you should pull pretty clear, $5g is pushing it though, as just the halfcut was $2500 from memory (crown 1UZ) then theres all the additional parts etc.
