    Thumbs up smaller sc14 pulley

does anyone know were i can get an aftermarket smaller pulley with electromagnet to suit a sc14 blower around the 95 to 105 mm
ive seen a couple of post who makes adapters but cant get onto them.
is there any was else who has gone through this problem and has found a solution?

Bigger crank pulley? I've had a bit of a look at it, and I'm sure it's possible, but the resulting clutch and magnet might not be strong enough (if you can find an AC one etc that would suit). I take it you don't have room for a bigger crank pulley?

its accually for my blown vs commodore ute so its easyer to get a smaller sc14 pulley than it is to try and find a crank pulley.
theres a " MIC* " on there that makes an adapter but i can seem to get a response.

    thanks

    hey
mic* is my brother.. we used an ac pulley off an old falcon and had my uncle makes us an adaptor.. however in his mark2 this casued problems as it is only possible to use a three peak belt to run the charger which results in the belt slipping under high load.. not sure wat it would be like in your case.. we also pissed off the electro magnet clutch and instead it just runs constant boost..

mic* talks about some plans that he has on this pulley.
would i be able to see them to see it will suit my application.
so from what you say does the adapter push the pulley away from the blower too much so you cant run a full 5pk belt?
if you have any diagrams can you send them to me [email protected]
or PM me your number so i can see if i can do something with it
    thanks

Not sure mate, just read it somewhere. I'm keen to check some out. Will have to make sure it has a spline not key though.

    Wink Re: smaller sc14 pulley

Hey man. Yeh i did the EA falcon air-con pulley mod to my SC12. Vinno is right about belt issue. Once you get the pulley on using an appropriate adapter/sleeve so it fits (internal bearing diameters are different) the EA pulley sits too close the SC.

Ideally it needs to sit about 5mm forward. A custom made washer (or something) might be able to get it to sit just right so im going to look at this when i put mine back on. I was running 14psi on a 3PK895 belt no probs though. Bosch all the way

It might help with the dimensions you need if ur gona do the mod yourself. Ive done a write up ages ago on old toymods:

    Cheers
    Daniel

P.S. If the info helps, pls give me some rep, ive got loads of stuff that i need to sell sitting in my garage and i need the REP goddamnit..just 3 more points!

yer that looks good but there are a few differences in the boss diameter from sc12 to sc14. but i should still be able to make it work. did you do any diagrams or drawings that might help me out cause they are a few things im stuck on to stop the pulley from moving front to back.
hey MIC* those drawing would come in handy right now. how far away are you for finding them.
also how do you give reputation points points???

Hey man, u give REP by clicking on the top right hand corner of someones post on the little weighing scale sort of thing.

You shouldnt' need a diagram, Once you have removed the original pulley from the SC12 & tried to put on the EA falcon pulley, you will see what needs to be done. A metal sleeve has to be machined using a laithe (i cant spell). Its all detailed through-out my post on the old toymods.

    Have a go

Yeah, it can be done, I made a couple of sleeves for this a while ago, not sure what happened to them. For what it's worth, and especially if you can live without the clutch, I'd get a nice custom pulley made up with a new bearing, and make it to suit exactly what you want, rather than trying to make other factory stuff fit. Also, if you don't need the clutch, you can use an aluminium pulley and save some weight

    Oh, and it's 'lathe' hehehe...
