videos hopefully thurdsay!
and yeh, the exhaust note minus any piping was pretty impressive... but ill get a system made, reportedly its nice and deep and relatively quiet until you open it up then it screams in a fairly exotic manner, or so says the blokes who've done this conversion

okay, after various wiring and induction issues, it seems to be running more or less smoothly, so a few small jobs, exhaust gets made, testing, engineering and rego, and then its on the road!
ive got a video of it starting and cutting out, but i wont post that up, ill make a proper one now that it runs like it should, stay tuned

well ladies and gents
as of 3.05pm today, its now moving under its own power again!
maiden voyage consisted of driving 150m down the unit complex driveway to the street, u-turn, and back again. all the gearbox / brakes / throttle etc are working perfectly (shifting even feels nicer somehow, fresh fluid i guess).
i can tell you, im pretty pleased to man the helm again!!!
before i took it out i completed the induction setup, stage one anyway, which consists of a pod filter. i got a new TB - AFM pipe, but its for the non TRC throttle setup, so it was too long as it was, i had to chop this down to get the ISC pipe to line up.
a fairly random guess of a longish 90' bend miraculously brought the pod filter right down around the fuel filler pipe and into the side vent, lovely stuff, you can see right up its muzzle from outside the car.
later, im going to paint that whole induction setup flat black, as its currently chrome. and maybe add a shroud. even tho ill have it all engineered its best not to draw attention to it. fortunately with the engine bay side cowlings on it will be all but impossible to spot.
parked up in the sunshine, it hasnt seen the light in a while, chance to admire the new gen3 tail light setup as well, tho it will look better with a bootlid on. i sprayed the white centre panel black, this will do until i can respray the whole car.
got the timing light out, spent ages figuring out how to undo the dizzy bolts with all the other crap in the way, turns out one had to be done from under the car, fortunately with no muffler in the way i didnt need to jack it up.
adjusted the timing from like 30' plus where it was when i stuck the dizzy on, to 10' as it should be (for now, anyway). immediately the idle (altho in diagnostic mode) smoothed out considerably, pleasing.
so nice to see it out of the garage for the first time in about three months! note my snazzy floor coverings
pleased as punch i am! the neighbours all came by to take a look, (how could they not notice, with me snarling past their windows, shaking their glass, ehehe)
things still left to do:
- shifter cable bracket
- mount diagnostics box
- mount vac tank
- secure AFM to strut tower
- wire the O2 sensors (still! but ive found all the wires now, finally)
- deprive the dash cluster of the oil level light bulb
- perform a mod to the ISC valve to prevent a known issue with idling, but ill see if its necessary first
- replace / fix radiator (it sprung a leak)
- figure out weird electrical problem with front fans / fan relay and the EFI relay
- tidy up wiring and fusebox
- exhaust
- all the administrational type crap that needs doing before its roadworthy
cheers people, i love you all!
