    Default Help required : RA-40 struts into a KE30 ??

Hello all, I am doing an upgrade into my KE30.
I was wondering if anyone has done this conversion, and how easy / hard is it to do?

Is it true I can use the KE30 strut top hats on the RA 40 struts?

Can the RA 40 steering arm / strut bottom bolt onto the KE30 LCA?

I am also wanting to lower the car substantually.
I know that I can use Camry 83-86 front shocks in the RA-40 struts which will be suitable for a 3 inch drop, and still retain a fully functioning shock that won't bottom out.

strut conversion = easy brake upgrade but also can affect steering / front end geometry.

lowering a street car substantially will make it scrape and bottom out substantially.

look into xt130 struts though and maybe low springs instead of superlows to keep that
exhaust where it is meant to be

I have bolted an RA40 strut into my KE30 for a test fit, but haven't driven the car with them yet.

Is it true I can use the KE30 strut top hats on the RA 40 struts?
Yes, the KE30 top hats will bolt straight onto the RA40 strut.

Can the RA 40 steering arm / strut bottom bolt onto the KE30 LCA?
Not sure on this, I used RA40 lca's which were the same length as the KE30 items and bolted straight in. The reason I am using the RA40 struts over something like XT 130 is because my budget is pretty tight and I got the RA40 struts for free .

As for springs, I plan to swap the KE30 lower spring platform onto the RA40 strut. This way I can use KE30 springs ( I don't plan to lower the car too much, maybe 1- 2" ).
Check the diameter of the camry springs. If they are the same as the RA40 then they will most likely foul on the strut tower.
