well i had 195/50's and they were small as so could go bigger than that i would think![]()
It might seem like a basic question but what was the standard tyre size for the TA22?
All the searching I have done only comes up with 165 13's on a J rim but what is the middle figure? ie 165/ ? /13.
I currently have 185/60/13 and i KNOW they register fast - speedo says 80kph when actually i am doing about 73. I am looking at buying 15's and was wanting to know the right size of tyre to go with it.

Hi,
My car - which uses the TA22 running gear, in stock form, runs a 185/70 on a 13inch rim. It now runs a 205/55 on a 15-inch rim and the speedo is fine.

The original tyres on a TA22 are 165R13, which is an 82 series profile, overall diameter of 600.8mm.
In Qld you can go:
615.8mm Max Dia
214.5mm Max Width
Not exactly what you asked for, but good info anyway.
good to know, i have 205/50/R15's all round, apparently to run 205's on the front you need spacersOriginally Posted by Cool1
I had 205/60x13 on my TA22 many moons ago, no need for spacers but it did scrub the guards quite a bit (read: probably a lot but I was young and stupid).

Thanks for the info fellas.
My mechanic (who is real tuff at rego time) told me spacers were illegal and you wouldn't pass rego. Many do cos mechanics don't pick up on it.
