Last T50 I sold was $80... and Im not sure if that was a T or A series box... So they do crop up for cheap, you just need to know exactly what your looking for, and keep an eye out.

Other option is to do a W55 conversion, they are easily available from an RT142 corona, and will put up with a lot more driving... bit more of a difficult conversion though.

I know its been done onto T motors, so A motors should be similar. Just a matter of finding out what bellhousing to use, the rest shouldnt be too hard. If anyone knows what bellhousing to use to attach an A motor to a W5x... pipe up (yes Clint, im talking to you ). A custom tailshaft isnt as dear as you might think, get the yoke and front part of the tailshaft where the uni bolts on from the donor car, and take it, your old tailshaft, and the car (once box is in) to somewhere like Hardy Spicer and itll only cost a couple of hundred. (a mate had his Volvo tailshaft cut, welded, balanced and painted, with new centre bearing installed for $80)

The xmember will be something you will have to measure and play with, as with the shifter... there are about 4 shifter positions available for W55s. Clutch slave cyl is usually found on the RHS for the W55s.

I think thats most of the conversion, just gotta measure and know what your after before you start, then find the right parts.

    Cheers, Owen

PS: you will need to measure what sized ID and OD you need on the spigot bearing, then get the correct one from a bearing shop.

The only bellhousing to use is a custom one. There is none from a donor car that will mate a A series motor to a w5*.

Dellows make them however arent really used much because of bad reports, however i just got one from a group buy from NZ nitesparts and im yet to try it in the car.
