Thats heaps cool work there! Its awsome to see everyone putting in different suspension into different chassis and seeing how they went about it.
How much camber and track have you gained from this setup?
And any wheel/gaurd pictures too please.
Sam
i've been geting a load of pm's and my msn has been tingerlying with messages about how and what needs to be done to fit s13 gear into a t14 chassis corona and well here it is
there are a few diffrent ways to go about it but this is the way i went about it
parts needed:
mx62 cressy lacs
ra40 tie rod tubes and ra40 or a better fitting tie rod ends
s13 coilovers
s13 strut hats
s13 breaks and hubs
the majority of the work is bolt in bolt out job but there are a few mods needed
the first problem i came across was the sway bar end links did'nt meet the right mounting points so you need to drill a hole(s) in the lca to accommodate it no biggy![]()
next i carnt remeber because i've had that many diffrent strut tops in it i carnt remember if had to mechine it out a lilttle bit but i think it just needed a slight file down
then theres the problem of the break lines the problem that i came across was that were toyota's have a clip and hole that clap the break line in place to stop it moving nissans have a very driffrent design clip set up and there are a few options 1.custom break lines 2.zip tie it in place 3. run a sil break line
i tryed sourcing new sil break lines and it was near impossible to find any needless to say i will one day get a nice set of braided lines made up but the zip tie trick will do for the time being
but from the rest of that it's pretty much a bolt in job looks like it was ment to be also forgot to add this will fit any xa6x chassis as well
i went for cusco zero-zr's which i believe have 9k/mm springs and with s13 sr20det breaks it's what i call and niceee set up to be rekoned with poos all over my old set up
fotos were taken with my phone (n93) which is much better then my digi cam![]()

there is a larger track but i am not really sure how much because i previously had sigma lcas but you need to flare the front guards heaps i would say it's very close track wise to simga arm convo
as for camber theres a shitload less with the adj strut hats theres any were from 0degs to 5.5/6.0neg degs
brake, brakes...

Hhmmm...this conversion will go nicely with the R33 stopping gear on my machine![]()
yep i've sourced the parts just need to get the disc's re drilled although i am pretty happy with the current brakes! i am also looking in to fitting aftermarket s13 tie rods and tie rod ends /castor rods
So your putting R33 brakes on this setup hey? That should be pretty sweet. Sounds like one hell of a setup to be able to have anywhere from 0-6neg camber. This is what i'll probably end up doing to my car one day.

Thats what I'm doing, not sure if Sam will upgrade from the SR20DET brakes.Originally Posted by Negative Boost

do you know if there is any 5-stud upgrades floating around for this?

hello
Doing this hopefully next weekend (ordering HSD's on tuesday) to my RA65. yay for more lock!
s14,s15 gear has the larger cailpers and disc's and is 5 stud 5x114.3 bolts on but if your using s13 coilovers the mounting holes need to be drilled out i think check out ns.com plently of info on s13 to 5 stud convosOriginally Posted by brett_celicacoupe
yeh i tried searching NS forums but their search engine has AIDS. doesnt accept small words.
so putting in "S13 5 stud hub" means your fucked, most of the words are under a character limit.
i made a post in their forums but didnt get too far with that either.
if you know of some good threads with this info then i would be most greatful if you shared them with me via PM...... mosssssst greatful
cheers
hello
Great stuff, +rep... although I'm half inclined to -rep you because now I'm going to spend an assload of money on something I don't need.
Out of itnerest, are you the guy with the ST141 race car?
My concern here would be how to determine the correct placement of the hole. In my experience normally swaybars are preloaded to a point... therefore leads me to think that having the hole off by a few mm in whichever direction could dramatically affect handling.the first problem i came across was the sway bar end links didn't meet the right mounting points so you need to drill a hole(s) in the lca to accommodate it no biggy
Thoughts?
I've never really played with Datsuns before but it was my understanding that Skyline gear bolted straight on?do you know if there is any 5-stud upgrades floating around for this?
Also, just wanted to clarify: You said you had to flare the guards for your previous Sigma LCA setup due to the wider track, and then that this conversion gives a similar amount of track.. I take from that you would need to mod the guards for this conversion also?there is a larger track but i am not really sure how much because i previously had sigma lcas but you need to flare the front guards heaps i would say it's very close track wise to simga arm convo
How major are your mods to the guard, and how low is your car? Just trying to work out if with a relatively standard height you could get away with no mods or just minimal mods to the inner lip (and therefore no repainting).
Any chance you can do a few measurements to work out the difference in front track?
Is there a reason you couldn't cut off the brakcet/mount from the toyota strut and tack it onto the silvia strut? Being a clip that doesn't suffer any load, a few little tack welds would be fine and there would be no danger of overheating/warping the strut.toyota's have a clip and hole that clap the break line in place to stop it moving nissans have a very driffrent design clip set up

Must.... avoid.... urge... to... upgrade... parts I haven't.... used.... yet.....
brett ns.com has teh aids and h.i.v it did at one stage have a good write up on 5 stud convos but i carnt seem to find it altho i am pretty sure you need s14,s15 and mabe skyline front hubs and then bolt them on to the spindal
hmmm my thorghts are that as long as the sway bar is mounted it really wount be a problem i just lowered the car marked the spot and drilled away it works fine
s13 coilovers even with 2 stage height adjustment dumps the car fairly low and you would be hard pressed to get it to legal hieght with the ones i have. you could try s14 coilovers as from the ones i have jic's there a pit longer in body to try and gain some height back
you would need to lip the guards at a minimum but it all depends on the wheel combo you run with 15x7.5 it comes close at times. My guards are beefed at to a point of no more flare can be added with out major work needing to be done or with out buckling the guard itself you could get away with out any mods with stock rims or very skinny wheels and tyres i carnt really say will or what wont because i have all ways had lots of caster and camber
my front track is from inner wheel to wheel 1330mm from outer wheel to wheel 1730mm i think
As for teh brake line bracket i thought if i am going to the trouble of fitting 1k to 2k worth of gear i might as well get some custom braided lines made for the price of them and the benefit i could'nt really be bothered cuting and tacking the corona bracket to the sil's strut you could try a sil's brake line it might work
it think thats it
i own sort of a race car but nah you must be thinking of My Racing 221's car the silver 3sge on sidedraughts

Thanks for the info.
The thing has 14x5" factory steel rims at the moment... even 6.5" wide would be a huge upgrade.
Does anyone know if this conversion would work with stock S13 struts as a stopgap? Or are they too wide?
And yest he silver 3S thing is the one I was thinking of.
