Come out without taking the window outWhat part of the dash are you trying to remove?
I'm wanting to install a new dash in my RA23, but last time I tried, it seemed like it wouldn't come out without taking out the windscreen. I have just removed the dash out of my TA22, so was just wondering.
Has anyone removed a TA23/RA23 dash and have any handy info?
Cheers, Davo.

Pain in the arse job at the best of times,do you have to keep it in good condition or just want it off? I found a hooked bit of metal strapping or even a fixed blade knife to initially get under it from the window side then run another bit of metal underneath with little bits of rags dowsed in metho/turps.leave them there over night as far under the dash as possible and let them brake down the glue. The next day dig a little bit deeper into it and so on but if you want to get if off clean you will probably have to remove the windscreen which after replacing new rubbers etc your probably just better off getting a second hand dash and having it re skinned at 250 or so.
cheers

wow i didnt have any of this trouble...did u take out the 5 or so little nuts along the dash closest to the firewall?(you havta reach from underneath). Once i took them off and the other few screws up the front, it just lifted out.![]()
We are talking bout the dash pad rite?
Its the whole dash pad I'm trying to remove. When I last tried to remove it I undid all the little nuts and all other screws and bolts, but the pin type screws in the dash pash itself wouldn't lift out of their holes - the windscreen seemed to be to close.
Riceburna - I already have a replacement dash, so if the one I'm trying to remove gets a bit damaged I suppose it doesn't matter, but I'd like to keep it in the best condition I can. I'll have another go in a day or so at trying to get it out your way - Thanks for the info.
Cheers, Davo.
there are pins and little speednut things that you will need to pop off with a screwdriver

My '23 dash was melted/glued to hte frame, and simply wouldn't come off without breaking it..
At the risk of damaging the "pin type screws" you can get some plyers and screw them out, mine came out without any damage. then you cud just slide it out.Originally Posted by Davos23
Those pins actually locate the pad, and the push on clips hold the front edge down nice and tight. Gently squeezing the clips with a pair of linesmans pliers, will distort them enough, without fracturing, so that they can be easily wound or slid off.
You then push the pins up, and pull the crash pad rearwards, a little bit of perseverance will pay off.
The thick edge of the pad may also be glued on, try rolling it up and down.
