hello
I've measured a 1500 wide one. It was from a fairly late model hilux though... 1997 or so.Originally Posted by gianttomato

I was thinking about getting a good condition hilux lsd front diff and putting the centre into my F series from my RT142 corona.
Has anyone successfully done this? Any advice you can give me as to whether this is pretty straight forward or not. As I always see hilux diffs for sale for pretty cheap.

Hi Mr.Mulivalve, The hilux centre is a "G" series and won't fit into a "F" series housing [no matter how big your hammer is] A " properely" set up F diff has been known to handle 300RWHP for years if treated with a little respect. Regards crownman 0412 711 481.
Ok cool thanks, i thought that the front diff from a hilux may have been an F series 7.5" diff from what I remember reading, from the 85 to 90 ish models.
Seen a few rear hilux lsd centres around pretty cheap but no good if they don't fit.

you're absolutely correct - the true-trac diff many of us have in our f-series is actually for an IFS Hilux.Originally Posted by Mr Multivalve
Don't forget to chance the carrier bearings etc when you swap over a centre
